Carrie Isaacman is founder of Shakespeare Sports Theatre Company, a New York City-based project that incorporates the technique of 'Unrehearsed Shakespeare' using scrolls. Carrie has been a member of Fractured Atlas for two years and her project currently has an active fundraising campaign for a production of Hamlet. Carrie shares some of her process of infusing the Shakespearean tradition of using actor scrolls in performance and how she hopes that translates into present-day theatre production.

Bronx Film 48 is on a mission to increase the number of filmmakers and films produced within the Bronx that showcase the borough in a positive light. The filmmaking initiative was founded by Gregory Hernandez, Edwin Torres, Ayaris Perez, and Christine Garmendiz, and has been a Fractured Atlas fiscally-sponsored project since December 2019. Through networking events, workshops, film screenings, and the annual 48 Hour Film Challenge, Bronx Film 48 seeks to support and put the Bronx-based filmmaking community on the map.

Meryl Jones Williams is a Brooklyn, New York-based analogue filmmaker. Her new project Goldilocks is a 16mm mixed-media, animated film set in 1989 that tells the story of two siblings who learn what they mean to each other when one follows the other unseen into the wilderness. Meryl was a member of Fractured Atlas several years ago and recently rejoined in her efforts to raise the funds necessary to bring Goldilocks to life. She shared some insight into the process of creating her first movie that integrates animation into old-school filmmaking and the impact that COVID-19 has had on the execution of her project.

Simone Alexander is the Producing Artistic Director of New Manifest Theatre, a contemporary theatre production company dedicated to reflecting the collective human experience through inclusive storytelling. New Manifest Theatre has been a fiscally-sponsored project of Fractured Atlas since 2018 and is based in Austin, Texas. Simone talked to us about good friday, New Manifest Theatre’s latest production, and the process involved in bringing the story to the stage.

Josh Prem is the creator of Teenage Wasteland, a short film project produced by a team of artists from the Savanah College of Art and Design that is inspired by the experiences of their teenage years. Joshua been a member of Fractured Atlas since 2019 and is based in Savannah, Georgia. Joshua shares the inspiration and some of the process of bringing his project to life.

Singer and songwriter Morgan James recently released Memphis Magnetic, a new soul album and Fractured Atlas fiscally-sponsored project. Although Morgan is based in New York City, Memphis Magnetic was produced exclusively with musicians and studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Morgan has been a member of Fractured Atlas for about a year and shares how she successfully fundraised for and produced her new project.

Cole Bankston is the creator of "Donnie from Death Row," an autobiographical short film project designed to change the way Americans view prisoners and the prison industrial complex. Cole is a designer and multimedia artist based in Nashville, Tennessee, and is a very new member of Fractured Atlas, having joined this year. His recently launched campaign on Fundraising by Fractured Atlas seeks to raise the funds needed to bring his film to life. Cole shared with us some of his story, inspiration, and the impact that he hopes his project will have on its viewers.

Theresa Koon is the creator of “Mother of Exiles,” a choral project committed to motivating people to discuss and address the complexities of immigration in America. Theresa is based in Portland, Oregon and became a member of Fractured Atlas last year in her efforts to raise the funding necessary to bring her project to life. She hopes that “Mother of Exiles” will ultimately be performed by choirs around the world and used as an anthem for organizations and campaigns that seek to support asylum seekers.

Andrew Purchin is the founder of The Curious Project, a series of visual art installations designed to confront and explore individuals' political and ideological differences. The project has taken place at various locations and events across the country, including the 2016 Republican and Democratic National Conventions. In 2018 it was installed during the 2020 Santa Cruz County elections and will be in five swing states in the months leading up to this year's presidential election. Andrew is based in Santa Cruz, California and has been a member of Fractured Atlas for four years.

Last year I met Kristina Wong in Chicago at Fractured Atlas' Artist Campaign School, a program that offers trainings for artists and arts administrators interested in running for political office. Kristina is a comedian, performance artist, and actor currently serving as an elected representative of the Wilshire Center Sub-District 5 Koreatown Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles, California. Created to engage and educate young people in civic participation, "Radical Cram School" recently launched its second season. Kristina took the time to share some insight into her journey and the process for bringing the web series to life.
