Arielle Nóbile is the creator of “Belonging in the USA: Stories from Our Neighbors,” an award-winning documentary series that seeks to uplift, inspire, and connect humanity. Her hope is that Belonging in the USA” helps to inspire a new vision for America where interdependence, self-reflection, and empathy defines us. Arielle has been a member of Fractured Atlas since February 2017.

How has Fractured Atlas benefitted your artistic practice?
It has given me the means to offer my audience and supporters a tax deduction. It was also very affirming to be granted fiscal sponsorship so swiftly and smoothly and was one of a series of green lights at the start of this project that helped me feel confident about the work I am doing.

How has Fractured Atlas benefitted your income generation efforts?
It has helped tremendously in that people have been more willing to donate knowing that the project has a tax benefit and is part of a larger not-for-profit vision.

Why do you think artists and organizations should become members of Fractured Atlas?
I have been hearing about Fractured Atlas for almost 20 years and so I think artists should join because of its longevity, breadth of services, and diversity of the artists and organizations it serves. I like the idea of being part of a larger community of artists and arts organizations that, while we may all work in different mediums, share this connection point.

Do you have any upcoming events that people should know about?
We have ongoing screenings both live and online constantly. The best thing for interested people to do is to join our mailing list, check our events page, or follow us on Facebook to see when we’ll be doing a screening near you. We have a screening at CU Denver coming up in February and we are scheduling new ones every week. We are also interested in communities who want to bring our work to local libraries, religious organizations, community centers, and schools to reach out to us to find out how to host a screening in your area.

What is your biggest accomplishment as a result of being a Fractured Atlas member?
I successfully funded and produced the pilot episode of our “Belonging Series” and went on to receive a very large donation from a single donor that will allow us to create the entire first season. This would not have been possible without the support and the infrastructure of Fractured Atlas.
