Upcoming Artist Grants and Opportunities: July 2023 Deadlines
Every month, Fractured Atlas provides a list of upcoming grants and opportunities for artists and arts-based projects so that you can discover more opportunities to get financial support and other resources for your work. As a fiscal sponsor of over 3,500 artistic projects, we provide access to grants for artists in every discipline.

West Hollywood Arts Grants
The City of West Hollywood invites and encourages artists and organizations representing diverse populations and diverse artistic disciplines to apply for four available grants. The Arts Project Grant is available to eligible, nonprofit arts organizations for the production, performance or presentation of arts projects that take place in West Hollywood. The Community Arts Grant is intended to support nonprofit arts organizations with a history of supporting BIPOC and/or female artists and audiences. The Organizational Development Grant supports nonprofit arts organizations with an interest in strengthening their organization’s infrastructure. The Transgender Arts Initiative Grant supports and enhances artwork by transgender artists to be presented or exhibited in West Hollywood.

Sustainability Labs
PAM CUT’s Sustainability Labs program focuses on embracing artists’ multiplicities and de-siloing modes of storytelling to provide greater opportunity and access. The program is open to U.S.-based creators, artists, directors, and producers looking to change their personal model of creative, financial, and business sustainability. A $3,000 stipend will be provided.

Kala Media Arts Fellowship
Kala’s Media Arts Fellowship supports artists working on innovative projects in and across film and video, sound, animation, performance cinema, and media arts installation. Four artists will be awarded a $3,000 stipend.

Art & Mind - “I Know Who I Am!”
“I Know Who I Am!” is a virtual Zoom event by Sista Creatives Rising showcasing a collection of women of color and femme-expressing folks of color finding solace and healing in art. Five chosen artists, through narrative videos, will discuss their lived experience with subjects around race, gender, disability, sexuality and more, and how art serves as a healing tool for them. The event will focus on disability, health disparities amongst BIWOC, femmes of color, and COVID-19. All selected artists will receive $200.

Open Call for NEW WORK and ONE WORK
Prospect Art invites visual artists worldwide to submit their work for two programs. The New Work program is a mini-grant initiative that aims to support professional artists at all career stages. The One Work publishing program is dedicated to a critical dialogue that focuses on one specific completed work by an artist for Prospect Art’s monthly online publication.

Grants for Arts Projects
Grants for Arts Projects is the National Endowment for the Arts’ largest grants program for organizations, providing comprehensive and expansive funding opportunities for communities. Applicants may request cost share/matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Designated local arts agencies eligible to subgrant may request from $30,000 to $150,000 for subgranting programs in the Local Arts Agencies discipline.

New Hampshire State Council on the Arts Grants
The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts is offering two grant programs this month. The Arts for Community Engagement Grants fund accessible arts presentations and activities that promote community engagement, stimulate local economies, attract visitors, and enhance the vibrancy of New Hampshire communities. The Folklife & Traditional Arts Project Grants support projects that focus on presenting and preserving folklife and traditional arts in New Hampshire.

Chaco Culture National Historical Park Artist in Residency Program
The National Parks Art Foundation’s Artist in Residency program at Chaco Culture National Historical Park is open to all artists working in all artistic media. The program includes a $2,000 artist stipend.

The Studios at MASS MoCA Residency Program
The Studios is MASS MoCA’s artist and writers residency program situated within the museum’s factory campus and surrounded by the Berkshire Mountains. Artists of any nationality can apply for stays of 2 or 4 weeks.

Orbitals
Mophradat’s Orbitals program takes four curators and arts researchers to an international location in the Global South to learn about a different artistic context than the ones they are familiar with and share their knowledge with their communities. San José Creative Economy Fund & San José Business of Art
The City of San José Office of Cultural Affairs and the Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI) are collaborating on two opportunities for artists who live/work in San José, California. The Creative Economy Fund awards project grants to arts, cultural, and creative-based commercial businesses that are located in San José and involved in the production or distribution of the arts. The San José Business of Art offers entrepreneurial training, tools, and resources for San José artists to sustain and thrive.

Creative Corps Initiative
The Creative Corps Initiative is a partnership between the California Arts Council (CAC) and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA), providing artists with a living wage as they work with nonprofit institutions in their communities within one of the four key issue areas (civic engagement, climate justice, community health and wellness, and social justice) to create a project of their choice. Each awardee will be awarded $70,000 to $72,000, depending on the amount of applicants. Bay Area residents will be prioritized.

Ucross Residency
Ucross Foundation invites artists of all backgrounds and disciplines from all over the world to residencies that range from two to six weeks. Living accommodations, meals, work space, and uninterrupted time are provided to each artist. The program is open to visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary artists, performance artists, and collaborative teams.

21c Museum Hotels Artadia Award: The Research Triangle
21c Museum Hotels and Artadia are collaborating on the third annual 21c Artadia Award in the greater Research Triangle area of North Carolina, including nine counties that will encompass Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh. The award provides $15,000 in unrestricted funds to one visual artist living and working in the area.

Loghaven Artist Residency
Loghaven Artist Residency’s mission is to serve artists by providing them with a transformative residency experience and continued post-residency support. Practicing U.S.-based artists of all backgrounds and at any stage of their career are eligible to apply. Artists must be at least 21 years of age and live more than 120 miles away from Knoxville, Tennessee.

Humanities Collections and Reference Resources
Humanities Collections and Reference Resources, a program provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), advances scholarship, education, and public programming in the humanities by helping libraries, archives, museums, and historical organizations steward important collections of books and manuscripts, photographs, sound recordings and moving images, archaeological and ethnographic artifacts, art and material culture, and digital objects.

New York Foundation for the Arts’ Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grant program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography.

The National Parks Art Foundation’s residency program at Dry Tortugas National Park provides artists a month in a historical lighthouse keeper’s house on Loggerhead Key. Virginia Humanities Grants
Virginia Humanities grants support projects that explore the stories of Virginia – its history, people, communities, and cultural traditions – as well as issues and questions that impact the lives of Virginians in the present day. Regular grants award between $5,000 - $20,000 and rapid grants award up to $5,000. Only incorporated nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.

Tiger Strikes Asteroid Solo Exhibition and Short Term Artist Residency
Tiger Strikes Asteroid is holding an open call for one solo exhibition artist and one short term artist residency recipient. The exhibition will include a $1,000 reimbursable exhibition budget and professional installation shots. The resident artist will have access to a semi-private gallery space and receive a $1,000 reimbursable production budget.
