The Empire State Fellows Program is a full-time leadership training program that prepares the next generation of talented professionals for careers as [New York State](https://www.ny.gov/)policymakers. Fellows receive an annual salary of $85,000 and a benefits package.

The residency term is nine months and includes a $21,500 stipend and private studio or office.

## Bemis Center Artist-in-Residence

The [Bemis](https://www.bemiscenter.org/) residency is a process-based experience—residents have the ability to research, experiment, and explore free from expectations. US-based residents receive a $1,250 monthly stipend and an additional $750 travel stipend, while international residents are eligible to receive reimbursement of qualified expenses. There is a $40 application fee.

The Bayard Rustin Residency at [Penington Friends House](https://www.penington.org/) in New York City's Lower East Side is envisioned as an ongoing ladder to empowerment for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) working to end systemic racism and to create a culture of anti-racism and intersectional equality in the United States.

Emerging visual artists demonstrating new perspectives in contemporary visual art are encouraged to apply. There is a $40 application fee.

The [Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC)](https://pacnyc.org/) is launching The Democracy Cycle, a new commissioning program designed to support new works that illuminate the promise, practice, imperfection, and opportunity of democracy. Proposals are requested for new performing arts works from artists working in theater, dance, music, opera, and multidisciplinary performance. A $30,000 commission will be awarded to each selected project.

Miami-Dade County visual artists, curators, arts writers, cultural organizers, collectives, collaborators, and artist-run spaces at all career stages are encouraged to apply.

The [American Library in Paris](https://americanlibraryinparis.org/) Visiting Fellowship offers writers and researchers an opportunity to pursue a creative project in Paris for a month or longer while participating actively in the life of the American Library. The program includes a $5,000 stipend. Researches, journalists, writers (both fiction and nonfiction), poets, screenwriters, playwrights, directors, and documentary filmmakers are encouraged to apply. There is a 30 € application fee.

The program is open to artists of all disciplines who have demonstrated an established dialogue with environmental and cultural issues. Residents will be provides $3,000 as a stipend and $2,000 towards materials. There is a $25 application fee.
