CCP Artist-in-Residence Program

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, Connecticut, will provide a dedicated studio to give resident artists the opportunity to produce a body of work in a supportive atmosphere for creative growth and development—using traditional as well as innovative printmaking techniques. There is a $35 application fee.

West Hollywood Arts Grant Program

The City of West Hollywood's Arts Grant Program consists of five categories. The Arts Project Grant is available to nonprofit arts organizations for the production, performance, or presentation of art projects that take place in West Hollywood. The Community Arts Grant supports nonprofit arts organizations and individual artists with a history of supporting LGBQ, BIPOC, and/or female artists and audiences. The Transgender, Gender Diverse, Intersex + Arts Grant supports and enhances the presentation of artworks by artists, collectives, and organizations that have demonstrated a significant commitment to the transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender nonconforming community. The WeHo Artist Grant supports the long-term development of an artist's ideas by providing funds directly to individual artists. The Filmmakers Grant supports film artists with the finishing elements of their project.

BICA Microgrant

The Buffalo Institute for Contemporary Art will give out a $300 good-faith grant for artists and curators who are realizing a project in the greater Buffalo, New York area. The program funds exhibitions, performances, and other projects that contribute to the visual arts in Buffalo.

Ellis-Beauregard Choreographer Award

The Ellis-Beauregard Foundation Choreographer Award is a national $50,000 award to a contemporary choreographer to stage an evening of work in Maine.

Peters Valley Artist Residency

Peters Valley School of Craft in Layton, New Jersey, offers fully funded artist residences for two weeks or one month in a fully equipped studio. Artists working in blacksmithing, ceramics, fibers, jewelry/fine metals, wood, or printmaking are eligible to apply. The program includes a $500 stipend for two-week residencies and $1,000 for month-long residencies. There is a $10 application fee.

Gibbs Street Residency

VisArts' Gibbs Street Residency provides an individual artist or collaborative artist team to experiment, create a new body of work, evolve an existing body of work, or develop a project in a six-month residency in Rockville, Maryland. The program includes a free studio, stipend, and a culminating solo exhibition.

Queer|Art|Awards

Queer|Art|Awards is an initiative of grants, prizes, and residencies that include support for LGBTQ+ artists. There are currently two award cycles open. The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists is a $10,000 grant awarded to provide support to Black trans women whose work has often been under-recognized in the visual art field. There is no application fee. The Barbara Hammer Lesbian Experimental Filmmaking Grant is a $5,000 grant awarded to lesbians for making visionary moving-image art. There is a $6 application fee.

Penland Resident Artist Program

The Penland Resident Artist Program in Bakersville, North Carolina, is designed for professional craft artists who are at a pivotal moment in their creative practice or career. The program offers two options: a one-year project-based residency and a 3-year career transition residency. There is a $30 application fee.

Artist's Book Residency Grant

Women's Studio Workshop supports all women and trans, intersex, nonbinary and genderfluid people in residency opportunities. The Artist's Book Residency Grant is a six- to eight-week residency in Rosendale, New York, for artists to produce a limited edition book work. The grant includes a stipend of $350/week, up to $1,000 for materials, and up to $250 for travel within the continental United States.

Jim Henson Foundation Puppetry Residency

The Jim Henson Foundation Puppetry Residency is an annual residency at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut, for an artist or company working towards the completion of a new piece of contemporary puppet theater. The program includes a $5,000 grant.

The Kyoto Retreat offers artists, curators, and writers an opportunity to spend four weeks in Japan for research and exploration. There is a $95 application fee.

Ucross Residencies

Ucross residencies in Clearmont, Wyoming, range from two to six weeks and hosts up to ten individuals, typically four writers, four visual artists, and two composers. There is a $40 application fee. Additionally, contemporary Native American visual artists, writers, and performances can apply to the Ucross Fellowship for Native American Artists, which includes a four-week residency and a $2,000 award. There is no application fee.

Grand Canyon Artist in Residence

The Artist in Residence program at Grand Canyon National Park provides an opportunity for visitors to engage with the land, cultures, and histories of the region through contemporary art. Proposed projects must be interactive, immersive, or social engaged. There is a $25 application fee.

Loghaven Artist Residency

Practicing artists of all backgrounds and at any stage of their career are eligible to apply for a Loghaven residency. Applicants may apply in the following disciplines: visual arts, dance, theater, music composition, architecture, and interdisciplinary work. The program includes an $850 weekly living stipend, along with a travel subsidy and reimbursements for materials shipping. There is a $25 application fee.

Community Leaders Grant

CitizensNYC's Community Leaders Grant is a microgrant of up to $5,000 given out to New Yorkers for community-building projects carried out by resident-led groups to improve neighborhood life, strengthen local leadership, and scale community partnerships.

South Arts Opportunities

South Arts offers two opportunities with deadlines at the end of the month. Jazz Road Tours supports three- to six-site tours at an array of venue types, often in rural communities and other areas traditionally underserved by the genre. Professional jazz artists may apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. The Cross-Sector Impact Grant supports "Arts &..." projects developed by partners—one arts organization or artist, and one non-arts organization—with grants of up to $15,000.

AXS Film Fund supports documentary filmmakers and nonfiction new media creators living with disabilities from a range of backgrounds, particularly those from historically underserved communities.
