Now in its 24th year, the Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest seeks today's best humor poems. No fee to enter. Submit published or unpublished work. This is a contest for humor poems, not serious poems. Serious poems will not be judged. The poem you submit should be in English. Inspired gibberish is also accepted. No application fee.

The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Applicants must be a contemporary visual artist, making artwork for presentation in a contemporary art context: museum, galleries, arts non-profit, the public art realm, etc. Artadia Awards are $15,000 and are unrestricted: The award money can be used however the artist sees fit. No application fee.

Fire Island Artist Residency (FIAR), the first residency in the United States exclusively for artists identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, intersex, two-spirit or queer, annually accepts applications for its prestigious and internationally recognized summer program dedicated to emerging visual artists.

Fusion Art invites submissions for the Colors 2025 Art Competition for an online exhibition during the month of April 2025. For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography using a concentration of colors. One color or a multitude of colors meets the criteria for this competition.

The Core Residency Program at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston awards residencies to emerging artists and critical writers committed to developing a sustainable practice. The residency term is 23 months, during which receive $100,000 ($50,000 per year) plus a health stipend. At least one fellowship is awarded to a Harris County–based artist or critic when qualifications are comparable. Limited administrative support is available for successful international applicants seeking J-1 visas through the program’s partner organization, International Arts & Artists. No support is provided for other visa types. There is a $12 application fee.

The Buffalo Institute for Contemporary Art in Buffalo, NY offers The BICA Microgrant, a $300 good-faith grant for artists and curators who are realizing a project in the greater Buffalo area. This is no-strings-attached money that an artist or curator can use in whatever way they feel it’s needed.

The Native Hawaiian (‘NH’) Library Services Grant program is designed to assist Native Hawaiian serving organizations in sustaining and improving library services with their communities. Grants range from $50,000 to $150,000 over the course of one to two years. Projects must begin September 1, 2025. The NH program supports organizations across the islands and country to address their individual information needs and priorities. No application fee.

The Walnut Creek Library invites artists living or working in the greater Bay Area to submit proposals for the Library Community Art Gallery. Jazz Road is a 4-year national jazz initiative directed by South Arts, funded by the Doris Duke Foundation with additional support from the Mellon Foundation. Jazz Road features a coordinated partnership with the other five Regional Arts Organizations. All work together to deliver technical assistance and grants that enhance jazz artists’ livelihoods through residencies in communities across the country.Grant amounts range from $5,000 to $40,000. The Terry Tempest Williams Creative Nonfiction Prize is intended to recognize the finest essay writing. We welcome all forms of previously unpublished fiction—one essay per submission. We welcome all work painted with creative nonfiction’s broad brush: the lyric essay, the hermit crab essay, the braided essay, the memoir, the personal essay, literary journalism, and everything in between. Food essays, travel writing, nature essays, sports writing, and literary criticism will also be considered but should have a personal component. There is a $23 application fee.

The 2050 Administrative Fellowship is named in celebration of the U.S. Census Bureau’s projection that by the year 2050, there will be no single racial or ethnic majority in the United States. This projection provokes thoughts at New York Theatre Workshop about the transformations that will take place in the American landscape—technologically, environmentally, demographically, economically and artistically—now and in the future. The NYTW 2050 Administrative Fellowship is a year-long, paid, part-time fellowship for emerging theatre administrators interested in one field of interest including Artistic Workshop, Development, Education & Engagement, Executive, Finance & Operations, Literary, Marketing, Producing and Production Management. The Woodman Family Foundation Housing Stability Grant for Artists (WFF HSG) provides grants of $30,000, distributed over three years, to NYC-based visual artists in need who are seeking support for stable housing. In its inaugural cycle, the WFF HSG will award grants to five artists. Recipients may use the funds for new housing which reduces their rent obligation, guarantees a stable rental obligation such as a lengthy lease in their existing or new housing, and/or provides greater access to live/work space.No application fee.

The Image Flow invites photographic artists closely tied to the LGBTQIA2+ community to submit work to their 3rd Annual juried photography exhibition Queer Conscience 2025.This call is open to all photographers who consider themselves members of the LGBTQIA2+ community. This national call for entry is open to all photographic artists living or working in the United States and its territories. All entries must be original works of art and entirely the work of the entrant. Accepted entries will be exhibited at The Image Flow in San Anselmo, CA and in our online gallery. Chinati is now accepting open call applications for the 2026 Artist in Residence Program.Four to six artists are hosted annually for two-month residencies. Resident artists are provided with an apartment on the museum grounds, a studio in downtown Marfa, and access to Chinati’s collection and archive. A stipend of $4,000 is provided for honorarium, travel and art materials. The program is open to audio/sound/dance/performance/video artists and visual artists.
